“Is it normal to hate my job but still feel afraid to leave?”
💬 𝐀: Of course. Okay, next question.
Just kidding — but yes, it’s completely normal.
You might be someone who needs a strong foundation before making a big move — and that’s okay.
But if you know you hate your job and you’re not doing anything about it… that’s a concern.
And on my page, we don’t do self-hating behavior — because that’s exactly what staying stuck becomes.
So, here’s an activity for you:
Pretend you’ll leave your job in 4 weeks. Even if it means getting fired.
Now ask yourself:
What needs to happen for you to feel 80% comfortable going?
Write a list — think of everything:
a new job lined up, your commute, finances, relationships, health — all of it.
Then, every day, take one small action toward something on that list.
Start small, and build momentum.
Here’s why this matters:
Stuck energy breeds more stuck energy.
You have to move first — even if it’s messy.
Like learning to walk — crawl, stand, wobble, step, repeat.
Check things off as you go so you see your progress.
Before you know it, a new job opportunity will fall right into your lap 😉
P.S. Why just 80%?
Because no one feels 100% comfortable doing something risky.
100% comfort only comes after you’ve done that thing 100 times — so don’t reach for perfection.
Unless, of course, you plan on quitting a new job every month for the next 100 months 😉
